If Grafton Have Contacted You If you have received a letter or a call from Grafton it could be for several reasons. You may be a beneficiary named in a deceased persons will or maybe a ' qualifying ' beneficiary under Intestate Law. Either way, you will be entitled to a share, or even 100% of the assets left by the deceased individual. Assets can include amongst other things; real estate, shareholdings, bank deposits, furniture and other chattels. Existence of a Will In the first instance we may have been instructed by a solicitor or executor to locate a beneficiary who has been named in a will, but for some reason is untraceable. This maybe due to the will having been drawn up many years earlier and as a beneficiary you have moved several times of even relocated to another country. Intestate If, however you are a rightful heir to an inheritance where the deceased has not left a will, we will have carried out extensive research to prove your connection and rights to the deceased, and to locate you. There are many circumstances and reasons why someone may not have created a will and where they have lost touch with members of their family. Some people may have moved or separated from their family due to a dispute or other circumstances. Over time the next generation may never know of the existence of that relative. If someone dies intestate and no beneficiary are found, their assets will pass under a common law doctrine known as ' Bona Vacantia ' to The Crown. Fees/Cost We can locate any number of beneficiaries depending on the case involved who will each receive a contract from us setting out our fees and terms and conditions. The fees are defined as a percentage of the net value of the estate. Generally our research is at our own risk and at no stage will you be asked to contribute or pay any costs towards making or proving your claim. Legitimacy The whole process can be timely so it is advisable that you discuss our approach and contract terms with our solicitors Simpson Millar whose details are on the website or correspondence you will have received. They can provide guidance and act as a reference for Grafton. Once you are satisfied as to the legitimacy of our approach you need to return the contract to us in order for our team to progress the claim.
